And then, there are my virtual friends-whom I've met through slicing, blogging, and tweeting! Meeting the slicers at NCTE this year was a definite highlight (so many inspirational people!). Thank you to my fellow blogging commenters...day after day, and week after week, you leave precious little gifts through the thoughtful comments you share. You've all pushed me and challenged me to grow both personally and professionally...
So today, I celebrate the abundant blessings that have come my way. Each of them special for it's own reason and so cherished. Thank you to all of my wonderful family, friends and colleagues for celebrating with me on my birthday! Love to you all. I feel as if I can have my cake and eat it too slice by slice!

Later, we'll celebrate with a special dinner at Nuevo Acapulco (Mexican cuisine), cake and ice cream. Then, we'll head out to the Pinewood Derby-good luck to my K-man! What do you do to celebrate your birthday?
We usually go out to dinner too. One of my most memorable birthdays though was when we arranged to go horseback riding at a friends' farm in the evening. We rode as a family with her and finished as the sun set, had a bonfire and ate some cake. It was amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds fun Crystal! Last night, a friend of mine celebrated her 40th birthday at a brewry-we got to go on a tour and see all the different rooms they are expanding into. Very cool place...
DeleteHappy birthday!! I forgot to say it in my comment. Eek!
ReplyDeletethanks!
DeletePalju õnne sünnipäevaks! Have fun, lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteUsually, whatever I suggest is what we do! Sometimes we go to Lake Michigan (a 2-/12 hour drive west), sometimes to a state park, always out for a special meal. The most important part is spending it with my family... what we do is secondary.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice of you to say thank you to all the slicers on your birthday Amy. NCTE was wonderful, wasn't it? Happy, happy birthday. I hope it's been terrific already and you have a great dinner out. My son & family flew in & surprised me last fall on my birthday, a very special thing to happen. They plus daughter & family who are here all went out. It was something I won't forget!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. It sounds like you are going to have a wonderful day and year. I like simple birthday celebrations. Staying at home and having my favorite meal, and ice cream sundaes (not really a cake person) and watching a fun movie all with those closest to me.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! It is so nice to read your posts, even if is only weekly! We usually do dinner and cherry pie! I hope your K-man did well at the Pinewood Derby today!
ReplyDeleteA very happy birthday to you, Amy! Enjoy that cake!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! So glad you are having a special day! My birthday was three weeks ago, but I got to celebrate it yesterday with my sister-in-law! family and friends are important. Hope this will be a great weekend--not just a day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to my year-around-virtual but still very real friend. Somehow, I know that if we ever meet the words would flow for hours. I hope you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! In my family we celebrate with a birthday book. Each year we write a book with lots of photos to celebrate the year. We then spend most of the day reading and talking about all the books from each year. It is fun to remember and celebrate on your Birthday. Happy Birthday!
