Seussical Teeth Brushing

In honor of Dr. Seuss' Birthday coming up and an interesting question I heard on the radio today, here is today's Slice of Life!  -based on Green Eggs and Ham!

These are teeth?
Teeth these are!

They need brushing near and far!
Far away or home to stay, they need brushing!

Would you brush them
here or there?

I would brush them anywhere!

Would you brush them
In the shower...
to add some minutes in the hour?

In the shower?
I would brush them in the shower
To add some minutes to the hour!
I would brush them here or there,
I would brush them anywhere!

Would you brush them on the pot?

On the pot?
NO-I WOULD NOT!
Too much risk for germs
you see...
With this idea I'll let it be!

So, yes in the shower to save the hour,
But not on the pot-because of germs you've got?

Yes to the shower to save the hour!
Not on the pot, too many germs we've got!
I would brush them here or there
But, I would not brush just anywhere!
I changed my thinking you can see
I'll choose a clean place to brush appropriately!

Far away or close to home
Teeth need brushing with that foam!
You can brush them here or there
Just not maybe anywhere!

These are teeth,
Teeth these are!
Take good care...
And they'll go far!

  1. Adorable! I often put the brushing of little teeth to song as in
    "Brush, brush, brush your teeth,
    brush them here and there.
Brush them up, brush them down,
    brush them everywhere!"
    Your poem is far superior!

  3. You are so creative. Thanks for sharing your fun thoughts. I thought dentists and Dr. Seuss seemed a strange pairing, but you've made it seem so logical. My favorite lines -
"Far away or close to home
Teeth need brushing with that foam!"

  5. This sure beats "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," which I sing to Isabelle when I brush her teeth. LOVE IT!

  6. Oh that is so awesome. I could have used it in Buddy Day last week. We did Raffi's brush your teeth song and talked about how to take care of our teeth. Thank you so much.

  10. Yes, I have risked the germs; I must confess. Once I worked with a girl who fell while brushing in the shower and had a big hole in her cheek. I take many risks to brush, but most of all I multitask while brushing. Going here and there and everywhere to things done, even though it's not much fun.

  11. Oh my goodness that makes me laugh. Brushing on the pot sounds a bit frightening. I'm guessing you at fun writing this Seussical tribute to the toothbrush. I had fun reading it!

  12. I am with you...on the pot I would not and I am not so sure about the shower even to add minutes to the hour. This was pure joy to read. My teeth are showing in a BIG, WIDE smile.
