Handel's Ice Cream Dream

Slice 10

Thank you to the Two Writing Teachers
for hosting the 9th Annual SOLSC

You scream, I scream-
From www.clipartpanda.com
we all scream for ice cream! Right?

To celebrate Kevin's birthday, we  (Kev, Kam, Nat and I) headed out to Handel's for ice cream filled with excitement!  The weather was a warmish 62 degrees.  We pulled into the parking lot and the decision making process began. So many flavored to choose from!  Everyone got their favorite:  coconut, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate peanut butter fudge.

It was a perfect celebration!  First, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Kevin.  Once everyone started eating, a quiet fell within the car.  Then Natalie piped up and said, "mm, mm, mmmm!"  We all giggled at her mmm's!  Handel's was an ice cream dream!

As I thought about what to share on our Handel's experience, I also noticed that the bag for our ice cream had some interesting factoids:
  • people aged 2-12 and 45 and older eat the most ice cream per person
  • The top 3 cities in America that eat the most ice cream per capita basis are Portland, Oregon; St. Louis, Missouri; and Seattle, Washington
  • More ice cream is sold on Sunday than any other day of the week
Handel's really does have delicious ice cream.  If you want more information about them check out their website.

  2. So surprised that Seattle eats so much ice cream. I'm a cookie fan, but when I visited my daughter in NY, we had to hit all their favorite ice cream spots before they left. Yum! It was the best. I also miss Bluebell Ice Cream, our favorite in TX.

  3. I definitely scream for ice cream ... as often as I can! Handel's sounds delicious. We have a new-ish ice cream place in Brooklyn called Ample Hills that makes some amazing flavors. When they first opened, they had to close after four days because they were so popular, they ran out of product!
