Date Day?

Date day.

A bit unusual and a spur of the moment planning are words I'd use to describe yesterday!   Kevin (the hubs) took vacation from work and I was home on break as the district was off the Monday after Thanksgiving this year!  Kam had school and we sent Nats to her daycare (please don't judge).  So we enjoyed date day!

Our date day began with a visit to a place we'd never been before, Gervasi Winery.  You can read more about them here!  Upon opening the link, the first words are "Celebrate Life"!  So that's just what we did.  We tried the newly opened restaurant at the vineyard called "The Crush House".  You can read more about it here.  We sampled a glass of wine and tried the crab crostata appetizer which was delicious!  Then I ordered the burger and Kevin ordered the chicken flatbread sandwich and soup.  Everything we ate tickled our taste buds!  Yum!

After lunch, we shopped Santa style ( I'll say no more here) and got some gifts for 2 special people in our lives.  If you're reading this, deductively reason about Santa, Elves and Christmas magic.  After the shopping was done, we stopped off for coffee at Starbucks and then came home, unloaded the shopping and went to pick up the kids.  The Christmas shopping was so much easier with both of us together.

Date day panned-out to be such a fun day of "celebrating life" and time together as a couple.  A perfect Slice-of-life sort of day!  Have you ever celebrated date day?

Thanks to the Two Writing Teachers for hosting the weekly Slice of Life!

  6. There is no judgment from me! Date days and nights are so important. Now, I want to go visit the winery the next time we are up in that neck of the woods. I'm so glad you and your husband got to spend some fun time together.

  7. Date nights and days keep the marriage alive and keep the parents happy; thus, if the guilt bug should ever edge its way in, tell yourself you do if for the kids! Sounds like a day you will remember for a long time!
