Baby Sleep 101

Rocking my baby to sleep
31 ways to get her snoring…
She likes this just now and then-
Sitting and rocking, just rocking there
Staring at those eyes so blue
Rocking baby to sleep
How to settle my baby?
the little grin the button nose
When she’s still awake
Teaching my baby to sleep-
Breaking bad sleep habits!
Stop rocking my baby to sleep?
Hair all scrappy and binky in
Growing too fast!
Won’t fit in my arms!
Love rocking my baby to sleep
Dozing off, eyes getting heavy
Rocking my baby to sleep
Once in a blue moon asking for rocking
It's okay...
Does anyone still rock their toddler to sleep?
Smiling with joy holding her there!
Could this be the last time?
A special moment to enjoy,
Rocking my baby to sleep
Shhhh!
She’s
Out...
lay her in bed
tiptoe
gently
savor
the
moment
close
the
door
ah...sleep

  1. This is so sweet, Amy. I remember well trying to settle my younger son by rocking him. He hated going to bed! I would sit a few minutes after I was sure he was asleep, then put him in bed, only to have him lift his head as soon as I turned away from the crib. He still is a night-owl! Cherish the time she still wants to rock! Thanks for sharing.

  2. I love the process too Amy. Could come here and offer me this sleep process? I can't stay in one.

  3. I love that you still rock and that she loves and still needs it. We all feel the need from time to time to still rock. xo

  4. Love this too Amy. What a sweet moment to you have captured in your poem. There are times I still snuggle and rock one of my babies, usually when they are sick. Those moments seem to stop time and remind us in the middle of all of our craziness and to-do lists that this is the number one thing on that list because these moments will be few and far between all the growing up. Enjoy. Enjoy. Enjoy.
