It is with heavy heart that I write to inform those interested that some beast got the eggs last night! Momma duck really built the nest up so beautifully with soft fuzzy feathers and leaves for her eggs...only to have them cracked open and emptied ...it didn't get one of the eggs, so I put the egg back in the nest. I don't know if she'll even come back now...it's a sad day...
Gasp! Oh no! How terrible. So sad for the babies and Momma, but a visual reminder of the food chain and how life is so dependent on it. I hope, hope, hope she comes back for the one little one waiting patiently, scared. I hope, hope, hope . . .
