Chapter 50!

Write Share Give

Today's the day I open Chapter 50 of my life's book.  I dread admitting my age-because I really don't feel that old.  In fact, I've been lying to my daughter about my age ever since she was old enough to ask. :)

It's been a typical day (in uncertain times).  I woke up a little before the actual time of my birth (around 720am) and got breakfast and then opened the cards from my hubby. Read the newspaper, twitter and facebook.  Then played outside during the sunny morning and created a logo for #chalkyourwalk day.
No Matter the Weather We're in this Together!

With the COVID19 thing happening, I have had more time on my hands than normal and have been looking through old pictures.

I decided to share a couple and take my inspiration from them for a special request on the slice-tell me about special memories with family or ways you see beauty in the world today in the comments.

Hope to hear from you.

  1. Please don't lie about your age. My 50s are when I stopped worrying about what other people think or do, and began to accept me as myself. I noticed that women my age no longer looked "old" (i.e., like our parents or grandparents), that we looked great and were doing great things. Ever since, I am proud to tell people how old I am (78 in three months) and am working on reclaiming the word "old"—it is not a four-letter word. If we all admit how many years we have lived on this planet, younger people might be less afraid of reaching our ages and not hide from it, or hide us.

So I see beauty in those of us at all our ages, not just our younger ones. And happy birthday to you, and may you have many, many more.

  3. Happy Birthday! How cool that your special day included chalk on the sidewalk and sunshine. You are double 25 - this is a nice number.
