Summer of Fun! Chalk-A-Bration Time!

Inspired after reading Betsy's Post @ Teaching Young Writers, I decided to join the Chalk-a-bration 4!  Kam and I wrote this poem together-although he wanted to stay in today and play with his legos.  I wrote it on our sidewalk-our driveway cement is too rough(?).  So here's our poem.  Thanks for the inspiration Betsy!

Summer of Fun!
by Mom and Kam 7-31-12

Out in the sunny summer sun
we play all day
having fun
We swing on swings
Blow bubbles too
And now we wonder
What do you do?

We had fun writing it together in draft before publishing!

  2. A perfect poem! I love that you wrote it with Kam too! The pictures are the perfect accent. I actually like it on the sidewalk - the grass and bushes frame your words. And more visitors/walkers will wonder too!

    1. Thanks Michelke! I think it's weird that our driveway cement is rougher than the sidewalk... Never thought about how it was framed!

  3. Ah! Amy, so excited that you joined in. Anytime I see someone's poetry displayed I can't help but smile. Your little pictures throughout are a great accent along with a poem that is perfectly summery! Hope to see you again on August 31st.

  4. Aw-w, Amy, this is priceless to capture with your son. What I do, tell him, is lots of things like blowing bubbles with my granddaughter, & today the 3 year old & my 11 year old grandson went to the zoo-much fun seeing the animals. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

  5. I love the way your posts combine so many DIVERSE elements of "summer" and perhaps even of "livign" today. You go to Apple camp, Skype, Twitter, read books and write with chalk on sidewalks. It seems to meyou have merged the best of the "old" days with the best of the "new" days to make lasting and powerful memories.
